FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions

Q. WHAT IS SUBCONTACT?

A. SubContact is:

  • i) a natural, safe way to experience contact with your subconscious, generally through sensory mental imagery
  • ii) a modular program to assist you in achieving enhanced performance and life-style enjoyment.
  • And more, go to SubContact.

Q. DOESN'T EVERYBODY HAVE THESE EXPERIENCES?

A. Of course. For example, research demonstrates that every time we sleep we experience mental imaging. An activity we generally refer to as dreaming. There are other occasions, such as having intuitive feelings or during meditation, when material from our subconscious is made available to us.

Q. IF IT'S NATURAL, THEN WHAT'S THE PROBLEM WITH HAVING THESE EXPERIENCES?

A. The problems are twofold:

  • Mental Imagery is not readily accessible to you.
  • When it is, you don't know how to interpret the material that has been presented to you.

We have developed techniques to change all that.
you can begin to tap into the vast storehouse of knowledge
that has accumulated over your lifetime.
WE SHOW YOU HOW.

Q. HOW IS OUR POTENTIAL WITHIN DIFFERENT FROM OUR CONSCIOUS AWARENESS?

  • First, let's look at the concept of awareness. The average person holds, or can access at any given moment, 7, plus or minus 2, 'bits' of information in conscious awareness.
Our subconscious is a vast warehouse of unlimited information, with a potential awareness for everything we have ever experienced. We can learn to shift our focus of awareness from outer to inner consciousness.
  • Accessibility - Our conscious awareness has limited on-demand access to the resources of our subconscious.
  • Understanding - Our subconscious understands and relates information in ways that are both universal and unique to the individual - such as symbols. Without learning and practicing how to understand the language, the subconscious messages often mystify our waking consciousness.

Q. WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES TO PRACTICING SUBCONTACT?

A. Over 2000 years ago, Socrates urged us to "know thyself". Half a millennium ago, Shakespeare urged "This above all, to thine own self be true ...". Modern psychotherapy has as its objective the insights of clients.
In other words, we can achieve greater awareness and understanding of our life. We can achieve goals that we, once, might have only imagined.
How is it possible for us to know ourselves?
This is where SubContact comes in.

Q. WHAT PSYCHOLOGICAL THEORY DO YOU SUBSCRIBE TO?

A. We have an eclectic philosophy that includes some Cognitive-Behavioral theories, some Jungian Analytic Psychology and transpersonal psychology, a bit of Gestalt theory, a little of Edward de Bono's lateral thinking techniques, plus our own theories that have evolved over the past 30 years of our combined experiences.

Q. HOW SAFE IS THE PRACTICE OF SUBCONTACT?

A. Very. You are in control and able to make choices at all times. Just follow the guidelines we provide, which are available in our book, SubContact.
You can order online from Trafford Publishing
or attend the modular workshops.

Q. WHO CAN PRACTICE SUBCONTACT?

A. Following the guidelines and proven techniques that we have developed from our personal experience, nearly 95% of the general population can safely practice Subcontact.

Q. ARE THERE ANY TIMES WHEN YOU SHOULD AVOID SUBCONTACT?

A. Yes! - If you are: under the influence of any psychoactive or mood altering drugs, prescribed, over-the-counter, legal or otherwise; under the influence of alcohol; experiencing a substance abuse problem and NOT in a recovery program; emotionally upset - such as angry; or under the care of a therapist for any kind of mental illness. If in doubt, check with your physician.
NOTE: The practice of SubContact as a technique is for those who can bring a little willingness, open-mindedness, honesty and faith.
